Created ODBC connection doesn't show up in CR 2013

I used the 32-bit ODBC Setup to create a datasource pointing to an Excel spreadsheet.  When I try to use the new data source in CR it doesn't show up under My Connections.  Am I missing something?

ODBC setup on 64-bit PC

I have downloaded recommended drivers for the 32-bit CRYSTAL 2010-2014 version.  I set up the ODBC and tested it positive.  When I open CRYSTAL it cannot see the ODBC.  I performed the same operation on my ASUS 64-bit laptop and it worked. On a Dell PC and an HP laptop it does not work. Any suggestions? I need the reporting function on the manufacturing and shipping floors, not on my personal laptop.

CR2008 not finding DB2 Nodes

We have been trying to connect to the database through CR2008 for a while with no success.

Version12.7.2.2279,  Service Pack 7. on Windows 7 machine.

The error trying to connect to a DB2 10.1 database is "No start database manager command was issued".

Thinking it might be a problem connecting to 10.1, we installed the 9.7 Server Client and created a node to the original db, but nothing besides the original 10.1 database shows up when trying to connect with the database expert. The node is not being found by Crystal Reports.

Hi There,

Local Machine version - windows 10

BO server - BO 4.1 SP06

SQL server 2012

I am using crystal report for enterprise on my local machine. I am using freehand sql function and directly querying the sql database via odbc connection. My query is taking long to run and eventually gives me and error of times out. I wanted to increase the time so that I can run my query. at later stage I will be scheduling the report at night so users don't have to wait to see report.

I am very new to this area. Can anyone please help me how and where should i change some settings so that i can generate the report. this might be very simple but quick help is much appreciated as I have to deliver this ASAP.

I have attached the error.

Thanks in advance

Crystal Reports not Pulling Data from ODBC completely

$

We have run into an issue with one of our reports that is regularly run in Crystal Reports 2011 for Sage and found that it no longer pulls the full data set from Sage 100.  We tried re-establishing the ODBC connection but have been unsuccessful.  Pulling the data in access or excel gives us the correct information.

We are looking for a list of ways to trouble shoot the issue if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Crystal Report Not Running - Prompt - Database Logon

Hi,

I am getting this report not running,  going to a database called Clarity.  I have checked the connection.  It connects from the boxes to the database in odbc.  This report completely works before it is promoted.  It is promoted from 4.1 to 4.1.  Other reports using the same database are working, but others are still giving this prompt as well. Most are working, and they are using the same connection in BOE. This exact report works in Dev. Do you have any ideas?

Printing on Crystal reports

Hi, we have crystal reports 2011 , ver-14.0.4.738

Every time we open a document, it opens up good. but then when we click on print, it takes for ever to load the printer interface.

how can we fix this issue? We tried other button as well such as page setup. Even those taking longer times to load the interface pages to proceed further.

What can be done to resolve the issue? printers are well connected and working good. just don't understand.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

We recently encrypted our database and need to change the source of data for our crystal reports.

We need to find out how to update the connection to  a secure (encrypted) database in already existing reports (tied to old database).

"Set datasource location" doesn't seem to work.

Crystal Reports 2011 cannot connect to Salesforce - Unexpected Error

I am unable to connect to salesforce from Cystal Reports 2011. I get a dialogue saying

Failed to Open the connection

Details:Unexpected Error

-I have increased the JVMMaxHeap in CRCONFIG.XML to 512000000

-I have appended the security token to the password

-I am not going through a proxy server

I am able to login successfully to the salesforce account using Crystal Reports 2008.

In order to narrow the issue down and exclude any issues related to custom objects on our corporate acount I created a clean , out of the box dev account on salesforce. Again I can connect to it with 2008 but not 2011 on whcih I get the same error

I can verify that a login succesfully occured in salesforce, the login in history shows the connections are being made.

In order to reproduce simply create a salesforce dev account, install CR 2011 SP02 and attempt to create a database connection to the salesforce account

Crystal 2013 - Repository Log On

$

I need to find out why Crystal 2013 has the log on references to the CMC Repository when we don't use the BI 4.xx or Crystal Server software.

I can create a Report Custom Formula but cant Add it to the Repository Custom Functions. When I have Report Custom Functions and open the report it prompts for the Log On To Business Objects Enterprise.

Does anyone else fell that SAP should have addressed this issue.

Does anyone else fell that SAP should provide an alternative to the full CMC Repository such as a simple SQL or Oracle or MySQL ect DB alternative so that developers can at least consolidate custom functions for all report.

Does anyone else fell that SAP should have offered the Crystal Reports developer community a web portal such similar to Lumira so that we can have client custom repository for custom formulas and perhaps even the business view manager....

Wake Up SAP now your just being stupid and greedy...

Progress DataDirect 4.0 ODBC-Select statment adding space to DB name and Table name.

I am connecting to a Progress 9.1c database and I can access most of the tables without issue, however I have a few that I am getting the following error on when I am in Database Expert and I try to move a table from the available data sources to the selected tables.  The problem is in red below.  It is adding a space after the word main and before the ln causing it to look for the table name main instead of looking for the table ln in the main database.  What could cause this and is there a fix?

Can't connect to Access 2013 databases

I was told when I purchased Crystal Reports 2013 that I would be able to connect directly to Access 2013 databases (.accdb) without using an ODBC datasource. That has not been the case. I was told by SAP support that I just needed the correct driver installed. I have it installed and this is still not working.

Crystal Reports 2013 jdbc connectivity to Oracle 12C

I have used CR XI to connect to ORacle 10G for some time and all ok.

Now my clients have updated Oracle to 12C and so i updated to CR 2013. But when I try to connect to oracle 12C using latest JDBC driver ojdbc7.jar I seem to connect but only see the Add Command link. No tables show up.

Is there some setting I need to adjust to see Oracle 12C tables using JDBC and CR 2013?

Thanks

Unable to open Crystal v9 Report using Crystal Report Viewer

I have purchased Crystal Report v2013 and have modified my existing Crystal v9 report in this new version. Now if i try to open this modified report in Crystal Report v2013 Viewer software (installed on client machines) then it gives me the following error message:

No Data Saved

This report file does not contain saved data and cannot be viewed.

Now if save data in the report and then open it in Crystal Report v2013 software, it displays me the saved data and i cannot refresh the same.

If i create a new report in Crystal Report v2013 then this reports works good in Crystal Report v2013 Viewer software and i can also refresh the data.

I have more than 150 crystal reports built on v9. How can i modify them and open them using Crystal Report v2013 Viewer software?

Field explorer descriptions are blank for iSeries ODBC

We recently upgraded our iSeries to V7R2.  I loaded the new ODBC Drivers and created a new DSN.  Now when we connect crystal reports to our iSeries, none of the table descriptions will appear.  All that appears is the is the table name with blank space for the description.

I have verified that "Show Both" is selected in the Tables and Fields options.

Data Connectivity issue with Outlook 2010

Application: Crystal Reports 2013
and Outlook 2010

PC: Windows 7 64bit

We are trying to generate reports from monthly task folders in Outlook but
Crystal Reports is not connecting to the task folder in all public folders.

In one instance Crystal Reports did recognize the Outlook profile and allowed me
to navigate to the task folder, which we wanted to generate the report from.
However, after selecting the task folder, Crystal Reports returns with
"...no items found" under the new Outlook connection. These task folders
contain hundreds of entries.

These reports worked previously in Outlook 2002/2003 with Crystal Report XI.

Can you please assist in figuring out why Crystal Reports refuses to generate the data from the task folder into a
report.

Thanks

Crystal Performance - Desktop Windows 7 compared to 2012 R2 Server

$
0
0

The issue we have come across it that we have found Crystal reports are running 50-100% slower on the server compared to running the same report on a Windows 7 workstation.  It is possible that this problem has existed for a long time. We put up a new 2012 R2 server the other day and we decided to see if performance was improved. We found the opposite of what we expected.

We have run the report from a terminal session and directly on the server console. We have run from both a physical and virtual server and got the same results.

Running the report on my workstation the status bar shows approximately 5,000 records read for every update. Running the report on the server shows approximately 2,000 records for every update.

On both my workstation and the server it shows the Crystal properties as:

     Database Type: ODBC (RDO)

     Server Name: Crystal

     Database: Data

     Use DSN Default Properties: True

We are running Crystal version 11.5.12.1838.  Same result with Crystal 14.0.4.738.

Any suggestions on where to start to determine the cause of this? Thanks.
