Crystal 2013 - Repository Log On

I need to find out why Crystal 2013 has the log on references to the CMC Repository when we don't use the BI 4.xx or Crystal Server software.

I can create a Report Custom Formula but cant Add it to the Repository Custom Functions. When I have Report Custom Functions and open the report it prompts for the Log On To Business Objects Enterprise.

Does anyone else fell that SAP should have addressed this issue.

Does anyone else fell that SAP should provide an alternative to the full CMC Repository such as a simple SQL or Oracle or MySQL ect DB alternative so that developers can at least consolidate custom functions for all report.

Does anyone else fell that SAP should have offered the Crystal Reports developer community a web portal such similar to Lumira so that we can have client custom repository for custom formulas and perhaps even the business view manager....

Wake Up SAP now your just being stupid and greedy...

I am new to CR 2011.  I am running on Win 7 32 bit computer.  Everytime I try to create a new connection CR 2011 generates an error and closes.  Below is the information that I am seeing in the event log.  If anyone has an idea how to fix I would appreciate the help.

Change ODBC DatabaseName but it does not change in CRXI R2

I am sitting with a problem where I have my Test Database (BusinessTest) and my Live Database(Business) on the same server. Now the reports was created before i started at the company and they are all showing the Business.TableName if i go to "View SQL Query".

Now i have to do enhancements on the Report and i would like to first use the BusinessTest Database. My problem is that i can not get the "View SQL Query" to show the BusinessTest.TableName no matter what i do.

The setup is as follow

I am using Crystal Reports XI R2 (SP 4).

I connect to the MySQL database using the MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver

It connects to the Business database (Live)

When i change the ODBC driver it does not change in the "View SQL Query" it still refers to the Business Database.

I also verified the database and still it only looks back to the live one.

I created a new ODBC and made it look to the BusinessTest database and then updated the Datasource Location under the "Set Datasource Location" then verified the database again and still it looks at the Business(Live) database.

What exactly am i missing? Why can i not get to change the datasource location?

Hope Someone can help.

Thanks.

Crystal Reports XI R2 - Stored Procedure based reports and SQL Server Native Client 11.0

We are upgrading to SQL Server 2014 from 2008 and I cannot get my existing reports to connect to my database using SQL Server Native Client 11.0 ODBC driver.

The reports are based on stored procedures.  If I go to "Set Datasource Location" and login to my native ODBC driver and select the SP to update I get the following:

"Data object cannot be opened/accessed"

Followed by:

"Unknown database connector error".

This only seems to be an issue with stored procs.  I have many reports based on database views and all these work fine!

HELP!

Appreciated,

Hi,

I’ve installed Crystal Report on my PC, but when I try to connect to the data base (LOLA.word Oracle dans OraHome92) I’ve got this error message :

"Impossible de démarrer la connexion.

Détails : 09004:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-12154: TNS : l'adresse

here's my configuration:

  • windows 7
  • 64 bits machine
  • SAP Crystal Reports 2013
  • Oracle Client 10
  • 32 bits odbc

In the control panel of windows (ODBC 32 bits), I get this error message :

"Les routines d'installation du pilote ODBC Oracle dans OraHome92 sont introuvables. Veuillez réinstaller le pilote."

and then :

"erreurs détectées :

La source de données (DSN) spécifiée présente une incompatibilité d'architecture entre le pilote et l'application"

Could you please help me?

thank you in advance

Crystal Reports 2013 ODBC issue

Our analysts upgraded from Crystal Reports 2008 to Crystal Reports 2013 SP2.  After the upgrade the previous ODBC connections do not work (see errors below).  I am using the correct credentials and all the ODBC tests for the connection show successful.  The ODBC connection is a System DSN connecting to a SQL Server 2008 database.  I am unable to connect either with existing reports that connected without issue in CR 2008 or in trying to create a new report in CR 2013.  The drivers tried and errors are below.

Microsoft SQL Driver (this was the driver previously used with no issues):

Logon Failed.  Database Connector Error: 'IM006:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnctorAttr failed[Database Vendor Code 18]. Database Connector Error: '01000:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]Connection Open (SECCreateCredentials()). [Database Vendor Code 18].

Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0:

Logon failed. Details: IM004:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed

Any help is appreciated.

I have added the function module in my crystal report, the fields are visible in the report but,

unable to get the data.

However, if i execute the function module using SE37 in ECC system, the data is coming.

So please help me to solve this issue.

Hello,

I have two Excel Files with the same columns but with different data, because I get it from different locations. I want to merge these two files in a crystal report. I think it's a full outer join, what is not possible with excel tables. Is there any way to read both files into one CR report as if they were one file? Example:

Exel file1                                 Exel file2

material      quantity                   material     quantity

aaaa               1                         bbbb          1

xxxx               1                         yyyy          1

   :

CR Output

material      quantity

aaaa              1

bbbb              1

xxxx              1

yyyy              1

Connectivity issue - ODBC connection failure with Crystal to InterSystems Cache DB

We have an issue with connecting to an InterSytems Cache DB

When using the 'Generic’ ODBC driver in Crystal (InterSystems ODBC driver is not part of the software’s package)

Once there's an established a connection between the two however, when moving to the next step to select tables, it results in the the following message:

Logon Error: [Cache ODBC][State : S1C00][Native Code 469]

[D:\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for Enterprise XI 4.0\CrystalReports.exe]

Driver not capable

When using the Generic ODBC3 driver, I receive the following message:

Unexpected database connector error - [CRSDK00000903]

Caused by: Unexpected database connector error - [CRC00000164]

Caused by: [Cache ODBC][State : S1C00][Native Code 469]

[D:\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for Enterprise XI 4.0\CrystalReports.exe]

Driver not capable - [Internal Error JNIRDBMSDictionaryNcreateDictionary]

Anybody have insight into why the driver is failing?  We're able to connect using Data Services and the BI Suite platform, we need to connect with CR Server.

Thanks

SQL Command Query - Query CSV files named by Date

$
0
0

Hi everyone!

I'll cut to the chase, here's my question: can I use functions such as FORMAT to format a date, then concatenate with a string to query a csv sheet, i.e. FORMAT(Date, "MM_DD_YYYY_) + "_csv" = 03_14_2016_csv, and will this allow me to pull query a new csv file each time the report is run? (So the report run will always pull the .csv file generated the day before)

Explanation:

On our network, we have a .csv files that are generated automatically by an external system, and named by the date they are generated on. I've been asked to design a crystal report that uses data from these .csv files.

Here's what I have so far, which does work:

Two String Parameters:

CSVName - example of accepted value: `03-13-2016#csv` `03_13_2016_csv`

SheetName - example of accepted value: `03_13_2016_csv`

Query Statement:

SELECT

{?SheetName}.`START DATE`,

{?SheetName}.`START TIME`,

{?SheetName}.`END DATE`,

{?SheetName}.`END TIME`,

{?SheetName}.`TALK TIME`,

{?SheetName}.`CALL DURATION`,

{?SheetName}.`DIALED NUMBER`

FROM {?CSVName};

Here's the issue that I have:

1) The user (not me, but a fellow employee) will need to make sure they enter in the date formatted correctly, as well as include the ` ` marks inside the parameter.

2) The above requirement seems like a recipe for disaster. I had hoped that I could change the String parameter to a Date parameter, and then format the date and concatenate '#csv' or '_csv' where required, but no luck.

Here's what I've tried:

New date parameter: GetDate

SELECT

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`START DATE`,

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`START TIME`,

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`END DATE`,

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`END TIME`,

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`TALK TIME`,

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`CALL DURATION`,

'`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`DIALED NUMBER`

FROM {?CSVName};

Which then gives me the error:

Error: 'DAO Error code 0xc03'

Description: "Invalid use of '.', '!', or '()'. in query expression '`' + FORMAT({?GetDate}, 'MM_DD_YYYY') + '_csv`'.`START DATE`"

Any thoughts? I really, really do not feel comfortable requiring a non-computer savvy coworker to type `03-13-2016#csv` `03_13_2016_csv` in order to query the csv sheet..

Thanks so much!

Looking for help connecting to data files from "Computer Ease" software. When I use the report wizard, I get to the intended files but they will not connect?

Hello, I'll looking for help with the following error: UFL u2lgmt.dll that implements this function is missing.

Here's a little background...

I'm trying to port over / convert a version 9 Crystal report to Crystal 2013.  When performing a database verify (Verify Database) to an Oracle database hosting the application named TrackWise (Parma regulatory tracking system) I receive the following messages:

The database file "PR" has changed. Preceding to fix up the report.

The database is now up to date.

UFL u2lgmt.dll that implements this function is missing.

So I searched for this dll in the Crystal installation directory and the internet (Google search) but only found 1 post in French from 2008 that did not provide any information that could resolve the issue.

Can you please tell me where I can find this dll, what type of function does it perform, and how I can install it into Crystal 2013?  (I've attached a MS Word doc with screenshots)

Thanks

Oracle DSN Driver

$

For quite some time I have used a Crystal Oracle ODBC Driver to access our database going through the Oracle Net Manager to set up the TSNs. Now, due to security changes, I no longer have admin rights to the Oracle Net Manager. I do have access to the ODBC Data Source Admin and have established the connection using a CR Oracle Wire Protocol ODBC. This seemed to work great. However, the interface with our database does not pull back all of the table for some reason. Does anyone know of another driver I can use to access Oracle databases that does not use the tns. Hoping this makes sense to someone and appreciate the help in advance.
