Using Crystal Reports 2008, connecting to SQL 2008 R2. Trying to produce the report at runtime and export to .pdf format. The export has worked flawlessly using a dsn conneciton from the web front end to the database. I'm tyring to change it to a dsn less connection and no matter what I try the "database login failed" message comes up. Here is my code (in the attached text file). Any thoughts?
We have finally upgraded to Crystal Reports 2011 and BusinessObjects Edge XI from Crystal Reports v10.0 and Crystal Enterprise v10.0.
All our reports in v10.0 were created based on business views built in Business View Manager - an add-on to Crystal Enterprise.
When I try to open one of these reports in CR 2011, I get an error that the business view won't load (obviously). Is there a Business View Manager for 2011 or BOE XI? How/where do I get it? How can I convert my old business views? If it no longer exists... how can I convert my reports? What are my options?
PLEASE HELP. We have a migration cutover taking place on Dec 1, and I am trying to migrate over 420 reports!!!
Thanks,
Amber Smith
I have an Access 2000 mdb that has several large fields defined as memo. I need to convert these to string[65534] since as memo fields they show up as blanks on my report. Can you please tell me if, within CR, this can be done and how to do it?
I have several reports set up that I previously ran from a Windows XP Professional machine from a Navision database. Since I converted to the W7 machine, there are a few reports that will not run on new W7 machine, but will still create properly from old XP machine.
I need to retire the XP machine, but am unable to until I am able to get all reports to run on W7.
I have attached screen shots of the error messages I am receiving from one of the reports.
Will gladly provide additional information if needed.
Thanks!
Hi,
I use crystal reports 2008. I do my reporting using the SQL Server database (ODBC connection, SQL Sever Driver) which has no issue. But, now I need to do my reporting using the Oracle databse. So, I created my User DSN successfully using the ODBC connection. I have 32 bit driver in 64 bits system. While I access my connection from Crystal reports it gives error. It says 'The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the Driver and Application.
If any solutiion, please help me.
Thank you,
Sanghamitra
Hi Gurus,
When i am passing the parameter and opening the report it is throwing the error.
Error Code:0 [CRWEB00000119]
Thank You for the Help!!!
I am using CR 2013 and learning as I go. However, I've come across an apparent problem where CR will stop working when I try to add more than one SQL table to a new report. I can make a report with one table just fine but as soon as I add more and click "OK" it comes up with the prompt stating that "CR2013 has stopped working." I've already tried the registry edit that is on other posts and it still does not work. I'm at a loss as we are trying to utilize CR to access our database and provide us with custom reports. I appreciate any assistance you can offer.
To answer a few questions up front, I do have admin privileges on my PC and the SQL database. I can access the database with no problem as I have made a couple simple reports from the single tables I've connected to.
Hello-
I have a silly question:
I'm new to CR and I recently install CR 2008 on windows server 08. How do I point to my database in order to create a report?
I recently installed Crystal Reports 2013 (DR Developer 14.1.4.1327) to use the new Salesforce.com ODBC driver included with CR2013.
When selecting the datasource, I only see a list of tables whereas in previous versions of Crystal Reports with the java driver, I would have the option of Tables & Stored procedures.
If I configure a system DSN to use the ODBC driver included in CR2013 and use that as a data source, it's still only a list of tables, no list of stored procedures.
I have many reports created using a either a combination of stored procedures & tables or stored procedures only. Is there any way to get the stored procedures back?
Thanks in advance,
Alex
Hi,
I am a consultant at Novum GmbH in Germany and I am currently evaluating Crystal Reports.
We are looking for a reporting tool, that meets the following requirements:
The design tool provided by Crystal Reports is just what we need.
I have been able to create reports by connecting to a couple of databases using JDBC connections, which works just fine.
The documentation on JDBC Connectivity for SAP Crystal Reports ( http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-59132 ) was very helpful.
I noticed that the Crystal Reports Designer also supports JNDI Connectivity.
We are using JBoss7 which acts as a JNDI-Provider, so I tried to configure a JNDI data source provided by JBoss.
First I added the client library provided by JBoss (jboss-as-7.1.1.Final-client.jar) to the path in CRConfig.xml.
Then I added the JNDIConnectionFactory in CRConfig.xml:
<JNDIConnectionFactory>org.jboss.naming.remote.client.InitialContextFactory</JNDIConnectionFactory>
After changing CRConfig.xml I restarted the designer and tried to connect to “remote://localhost:4447”.
Unfortunately I was not able to get this running.
Is there a documentation on JNDI Connectivity similar to http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-59132 ?
Is there a place where I can see more detailed error messages?
Is there an example configuration for JBoss?
I would appreciate your help.
Regards, Michael
My company just recently purchased Crystal Reports 2013 to be used with EnterpriseIQ for generating existing and creating new reports. I have logged into the software since being loaded onto my computer however when I tried to log in last night and again this am. It allows me to execute the program and I launch report wizard from start page. At that point it gives me a login in screen for either my test data or IQORA for production data in IQMS. I entered the appropriate data however it then gives error of message that software isn't responding and I have to use task manager to "kill" process. What steps do I need to take to fix this issue.
I have attached screen shot of the login screen for database and once I have completed entering password is when the "unresponsive" error is displayed.
Thanks
Laura
I'm running Crystal Reports 2008 on a Windows 7 machine. Whenever I try to create a new connection using DB2 Unicode I get
"SQL1032N No start database manager command was issued SQLSTATE=57019."
I am running DB2 10.1 fix pack 4. We have tested it on DB2 9.7 and had no problem connecting. Is there any way to connect and/or are there any known issues with CR2008 to DB2 10.1?
Hello everybody,
I hope somebody can assist me with this problem I'm having at my workplace.
Application: Crystal Reports 11.0.0.1 and Outlook 2010
PC: Windows 7 64bit
An end user is trying to generate reports from a monthly task folder in Outlook but Crystal Reports is not responding correctly.
With one user, when trying to create a new Connection using the Standard Report Creation Wizard, Crystal Reports fails to acknowledge an Outlook profile being on the system and requests that you create one in Control Panel>Mail. Even after recreating the mailbox in Outlook, Crystal Reports still fails to recognize the mail profile.
With another user, Crystal Reports did recognize the Outlook profile and allowed me to navigate to the task folder, which we wanted to generate the report from. However, after selecting the task folder, Crystal Reports returns with "...no items found" under the new Outlook connection. The task folder contains hundreds of entries.
Please assist in figuring out why Crystal Reports refuses to generate the data from the task folder into a report.
Hi,
I am getting this report not running, going to a database called Clarity. I have checked the connection. It connects from the boxes to the database in odbc. This report completely works before it is promoted. It is promoted from 4.1 to 4.1. Other reports using the same database are working, but others are still giving this prompt as well. Most are working, and they are using the same connection in BOE. This exact report works in Dev. Do you have any ideas?
Hi,
I have a bunch or reports and a handful of LOV that don't display on the first try. This is Crystal 2013 and viewing a refresh from SAP BI 4.1. Basically, The first time you look at the LOV it is blank. The second time you can see it and use it like normal. But it is too much to ask everyone to exit out of a report and go back in everytime one of these is used. I did not create any of the reports but I did recreate a LOV for a test and it did the same thing.
Thanks for your help!
I have the trial version of SAP Crystal Reports 2013 but can only find instructions for connecting to ECC. Have been told the 2008 version of SC will work with R3 47 and doesn't need BI or BW. If i can confirm this i will purchase the 2008. Also looking for tutorials or assistance in how to do the connection.
I am using Crystal Reports 2013. I just add a an additional table in my report and I tried to establish a link to the new table. I saved it but everytime the link I saved has disappeared. My question is :
1. Can I only establish link using primary key or secondary key in the link?
2. If I tried to establish link between 2 tables but the field is not part of the key, is there any way I can establish the link?
3. When I saved my link. Crystal Reports never given me any error. So I though the link I established is ok. But it disappeared everytime I check back. If I can not establish link without using key, then Crystal Reports should have error message appears and warn me.
Any idea of how to fix this problem?
Our analysts upgraded from Crystal Reports 2008 to Crystal Reports 2013 SP2. After the upgrade the previous ODBC connections do not work (see errors below). I am using the correct credentials and all the ODBC tests for the connection show successful. The ODBC connection is a System DSN connecting to a SQL Server 2008 database. I am unable to connect either with existing reports that connected without issue in CR 2008 or in trying to create a new report in CR 2013. The drivers tried and errors are below.
Microsoft SQL Driver (this was the driver previously used with no issues):
Logon Failed. Database Connector Error: 'IM006:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnctorAttr failed[Database Vendor Code 18]. Database Connector Error: '01000:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]Connection Open (SECCreateCredentials()). [Database Vendor Code 18].
Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0:
Logon failed. Details: IM004:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_ENV failed
Any help is appreciated.
I had a connection that was seeing stored procs, I tried to change it and not when I go back even though options are set to see SP's it will only show tables.
