We are reporting against an IBM i. the data there is HEX and I have made a check box on the ODBC on my PC to translate Convert Binary data to CCSID 65535 to text.
THis works from my PC but for those users working off the server it does not. (Even if i login from my PC using their login it is fine) but not from the server.
I made the same check box on the server but still it is giving this error:
"The Viewer could not process an event.Error in File inventory report Failed to retreive data from the database Details Database vendor code : - 551
Error code O: CRWEB00000119
Surely someone has seen this happen before...
THe data on the IBM i is coming from their DDL not their DDS based tables. The DDS is fine but cannot provide dynamic views for that you need DDL (SQL based) but these are in HEX. But surely this has happened before. We are totally stuck.
